We opened our doors in 1988 and we are still Irish owned and run by teachers. Nearly 40 years later, more than 350,000 students from over 70 countries have studied with us. Some came for a week. Others stayed for months. Many left with friends all over the world.

You will find us at 13 Harcourt Street, right beside St Stephen’s Green. Our school sits in a Georgian building in the middle of Dublin, a short walk from shops, restaurants and parks. The Luas and lots of bus routes stop nearby. Inside, we have free WiFi, a study and reading room, a kitchen and a computer area.

On your first day, you take a short level test and have a chat with our team. That way you start in the right class. It does not matter if you are a complete beginner. Our teachers are native English speakers with a university degree and a TEFL certificate. Every Friday we run a short test and feedback session, so you always know how you are getting on.

Learning English does not stop when class ends, so we plan a lot outside the classroom. We run social events most nights, trips around Dublin, five-a-side football and weekend trips to places like Galway and the Cliffs of Moher. When it comes to where you live, you can choose a host family, a city centre apartment or our student residence. We visit every host family in person before they welcome a student. If you want, we can also arrange your airport pick-up.

We are a small school and we keep support close. Our Director of Studies looks after your classes. Our student liaison officer helps with everything else, from CV advice to settling into life in Dublin. We are proud of our 300+ five-star Google reviews, but what matters most is that you feel looked after from the day you arrive.

Main Airports
Dublin Airport (DUB) is the most popular choice because it is Ireland’s largest international hub and offers the widest selection of incoming global flights.
Yes. ULearn is recognised by the Irish Department of Education and registered with ACELS, the body that oversees English language schools in Ireland. It is also recognised by QQI and is a member of EEI.
No. Every student takes a level test and a short interview before starting, and then joins the class that fits. The school asks for your feedback in the first week to make sure the level feels right.
There are three options. Host families include breakfast and dinner. Apartments are in the city centre and are for students aged 18 and over, unless you travel with someone. The student residence has shared rooms and free WiFi, and it is a short walk from the school. The school visits every host family in person before they take students.
ULearn offers IELTS, Cambridge First (FCE) and Cambridge Advanced (CAE) preparation. It also covers TOEFL and Business English exams. If you do not need an exam, you can take General English or a Business English course.
You get a Director of Studies for any class questions and a student liaison officer for everything else. The school gives free help with CVs and job searching, and you can ask for a private chat about how you are settling in. Airport pick-up is available on request.
