Swan English Language Training is an independent, privately owned English school in the middle of Dublin. We have been teaching English for over 38 years, and thousands of students come to us every year to learn English, work and make friends.

We teach adults, juniors, groups and individuals, from General English and exam preparation to teacher training and internships. Our lessons start with clear weekly goals, and every student has regular one-to-one time with a teacher to plan their own progress.

Our classrooms are a real mix of cultures. Students join us from Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia, so English becomes the language everyone shares. Our teachers and office team give you personal attention and are always happy to help.

You can stay with a host family. Ours are carefully selected, regularly inspected and live in the Dublin suburbs, with easy bus, LUAS or DART links to the school.

Life at Swan does not stop when classes end. Our social programme runs activities, workshops and excursions with a Swan leader, so you practise your English in real situations and discover Dublin and the rest of Ireland.

Main Airports
Dublin Airport (DUB) is the most popular choice because it is Ireland’s largest international hub and offers the widest selection of incoming global flights.
Take the online level test before you arrive. It takes up to an hour, and the result goes straight to our academic team. If you cannot take it before you arrive, we help you take it on your first day.
Morning classes run from 9am to 1pm and afternoon classes from 1.45pm to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Intensive courses cover both. The school closes on Irish public holidays and over Christmas and New Year.
We are on Grafton Street in the city centre, which is a main transport hub. You can arrive by bus, LUAS or DART. From the airport you can arrange a pick-up or take the Aircoach to Trinity College, just steps from the school.
Only a pen and paper. We give you class sets of course books and web-based materials, so there is nothing to buy.
EU and EEA students can work in Ireland, and need a PPS number and an Irish bank account. Non-EU students on a long-term course can work 20 hours a week in term time and 40 hours outside term. Rules depend on your visa, so check the current immigration rules before you book.
