ICOT College opened its Cork campus in 2017, adding a second Irish base to a school that has run in Dublin since 2009. That gives ICOT College Cork real institutional backing behind it, not a newly formed operation finding its feet.

The school sits in Ballintemple, a quieter residential part of Cork city on the south side, close to the harbour and a short journey from the city centre. Students get a genuine local neighbourhood to live in day to day, while still having the full pace of Cork’s city life within easy reach.

ICOT College Cork runs a range of English programmes built around different student goals, from general English through to combined study and work options. Whatever level a student arrives at, the school structures a path forward from it, rather than offering a single fixed course for everyone.

Support runs through the whole experience, not just the classroom. Past students consistently point to real help with accommodation, registration, and day-to-day questions once they land, the kind of practical support that matters most in someone’s first few weeks in a new country.

Choosing Cork over Dublin also means a real difference in daily cost, without stepping down in course quality. Cork carries its own strong local economy alongside a noticeably calmer pace of life, giving students the space to focus on their English while still being part of a genuine working city.

Main Airports
Cork Airport (ORK) is the preferable option for convenience and proximity, sitting just 8 kilometres south of the city. Dublin Airport (DUB) is the most popular choice because it is Ireland’s largest international hub and offers the widest selection of incoming global flights.
ICOT College operates two campuses in Ireland, with schools situated in the city centres of Dublin and Cork. General English classes begin every Monday, except on public holidays. Students must be at least 18 years old to enrol in the courses.
Class sizes have a strict limit of 15 students per room. Courses run from 1 to 25 weeks, involving 15 hours of weekly classroom study. Students usually advance to the next language level after roughly 12 weeks, depending on their individual progress and weekly test results.
The college offers standard General English as well as a combined General English plus IELTS preparation course for advanced learners. Students also get access to free extracurricular activities to get more practice. These extra sessions include CV writing workshops, conversation practice, and TIE exam preparation.
A student support team helps learners navigate practical needs like bank documents, visa processes, and finding suitable accommodation. Students can also book an airport pick-up service to take them directly to their accommodation upon arrival. Furthermore, specialised CV classes help students format their work history to European standards to assist with job hunting.
Students use the online ICOT Student Portal to handle their administrative and academic tasks. The online platform allows you to track your class attendance in real time and view your exam results. You can also use the system to submit holiday requests or apply for reinstatement after an absence.
