Celtic School of English is an independent language school in Tralee, County Kerry. We opened in 2003 and we own our building, so students get a stable and welcoming place to learn. The school is close to the town centre, the park, the museum and the main shops.

Our classes are small, practical and friendly. We teach the English you need in everyday life, with a different skill in focus each day. Every student gets individual attention, and we move at a pace that suits you.

Our Director, Anne O’Keeffe, looks after teaching, accommodation and student progress herself. Our teachers are qualified and experienced, and our office team is always happy to help. Many students come back years later just to say hello.

Between classes there is plenty to do. Our social programme includes trips around Kerry, and Killarney and the Dingle Peninsula are only about an hour away. You can go surfing, hill walking or horse riding, or enjoy live music in a traditional Irish pub if you are over 18.

Most students stay with a host family within walking distance of the school. Tralee is a friendly town with Banna Beach, the Slieve Mish Mountains and the Wild Atlantic Way on its doorstep. We are recognised by ACELS, part of Quality and Qualifications Ireland.

Main Airports
Kerry Airport (KIR) is the preferable option for convenience and proximity, sitting about 20 kilometres from the town. Dublin Airport (DUB) is the most popular choice because it is Ireland’s largest international hub and offers the widest selection of incoming global flights.
Any level. The General English course takes beginners up to advanced students. Adult courses are for students aged 17 and over.
