Welcome to Norte Study. These Terms of Service set out the rules for using our website, our planning tools, and our educational agency services. By browsing our website, using our interactive calculators, or booking a consultation with our team, you agree to follow these rules.

Norte Study is an independent international education agency registered in the Republic of Ireland.

1. Our Role

Norte Study acts as an independent education agency and application facilitator. We provide research tools, verify official language school pricing, and help you prepare your enrolment documentation. We do not own, manage, or control the partner language academies listed on our platform.

2. Advisory Consultations

Our introductory advisory sessions are provided completely free of charge. Our consultants offer practical guidance based on current national immigration guidelines and official school criteria. However, immigration legislation changes frequently. Information provided by our team does not constitute a guaranteed government visa approval or a guaranteed border entry outcome.

3. Payment Gateways

When you confirm a course booking through Norte Study, your tuition funds are processed through one of two official pathways depending on the specific partner institution and/or your personal preference:

3.1 Direct School Settlement

For selected academies, you will transfer your tuition funds directly to the language school using their official secure payment portal. In these instances, Norte Study does not handle, store, or receive your tuition money. Your financial transaction is governed entirely by the partner school’s own terms and banking procedures.

3.2 Norte Study Settlement

For selected academies, you may transfer your tuition funds directly to Norte Study. Where this applies, Norte Study holds that money only for as long as it takes to pass it on to the school, and does not use it for any other purpose.

4. Cancellations and Refunds (Norte Study)

If you pay the school directly, your refund is governed entirely by that school’s own published cancellation and refund policy, not by Norte Study.

If you pay Norte Study directly, Norte Study handles your refund under our own cancellation and refund terms. These include a non-refundable deposit, and specific provisions for visa refusals, changes made by the school, and other circumstances. The full terms that apply to your booking are set out in your Client and Booking Agreement, signed at the time of booking.

4.1 Third-Party Add-ons

External services booked on your behalf (including medical insurance policies, airport transfers, official English examinations, and private accommodation deposits) are strictly subject to the individual third-party provider’s cancellation terms. Many of these items are 100% non-refundable once booked.

5. School Insolvency and Learner Protection

The international education sector carries real financial risks. While we audit our partner schools regularly, we do not control their private bank accounts. Depending on your chosen destination, accredited institutes are governed by local statutory learner protection laws (such as Protection of Enrolled Learners in Ireland or ELT Council regulations in Malta). However, if a school closes down, becomes insolvent, or fails to protect student funds held in its accounts, Norte Study cannot act as an emergency insurance company.

In the event of a school bankruptcy, your legal right to course completion or financial reimbursement rests strictly with that school’s national protection scheme or appointed liquidators. Our financial liability to you is strictly limited to returning the agency fee we earned on your booking. We cannot replace lost tuition funds held inside a closed school’s bank account.

If Norte Study is still holding your payment, and has not yet forwarded it to the school, at the time that school becomes insolvent or ceases trading, that payment remains yours and will be returned to you in full. We will also help you find another suitable school so you can continue with your plans, if that’s what you’d prefer.

6. Limitation of Liability

Norte Study is not liable for any financial losses, travel delays, or personal damages resulting from airline cancellations, national border control decisions, currency exchange fluctuations, or changes to national immigration laws. You are personally responsible for ensuring your travel documents are valid.

7. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed strictly by the laws of the Republic of Ireland. Any legal dispute or claim arising from these terms or our services will be settled exclusively in the courts of Ireland.
